Body Composition Analysis (BCA)

Our Body Composition Analysis utilizes advanced medical-grade technology to provide a detailed assessment of your body metrics. The system performs a 5-segment analysis (using 15 impedance measurements) covering the right arm, left arm, trunk, right leg, and left leg through an 8-point tactile electrode system.

The analyzer evaluates results by integrating the user’s individual data, including weight, age, biological sex, and height, to provide personalized insights.

Body Composition Metrics & Analysis

The assessment provides a detailed breakdown of the following indicators:

  1. Intracellular Water (ICW): Water contained within the body’s cells.
  2. Extracellular Water (ECW): Water found in the spaces outside the cells.
  3. Total Body Water (TBW): The overall amount of fluid in the body.
  4. Protein: The total amount of protein in the body, essential for muscle and tissue health.
  5. Body Fat Mass: The total weight of all fat stored in the body.
  6. Minerals: Essential mineral content, primarily found in the bones and bloodstream.
  7. Soft Lean Mass (SLM): The total weight of the body’s soft tissues, including muscle and organs, excluding bone and fat.
  8. Fat-Free Mass (FFM): Total body mass excluding all fat (includes muscle, bone, and water).
  9. Body Weight: Total measured weight.

Body Composition & Wellness Analysis

  • Weight Management Indicators:
    • Body Mass Index (BMI): A standardized ratio of weight to height.
    • Percent Body Fat (PBF): The proportion of fat relative to total body weight.
  • Segmental Analysis (Regional Distribution):
    • Segmental Fat Mass: Detailed fat distribution for the whole body, right arm, left arm, trunk, right leg, and left leg.
    • Segmental Lean Mass: Muscle and soft tissue distribution for the whole body, right arm, left arm, trunk, right leg, and left leg.
  • Advanced Metabolic & Physical Indicators:
    • Integrated Body Composition Analysis: An evaluation utilizing both Percent Body Fat and BMI for a comprehensive health profile.
    • Muscle Quality Assessment: Evaluation of functional strength and muscle health through Grip Strength and Muscle Quality Scoring.
    • Bioelectrical Impedance Vector Analysis (BIVA): A graphical representation of body composition and hydration status based on cellular resistance and reactance.

Body Composition Analysis (BCA) Procedure

body composition analysis procedure

  1. The client provides their information and completes the initial registration process.

  2. To ensure accuracy, the client is asked to remove any footwear (socks or stockings) and all wrist or hand accessories, including watches, bracelets, and rings.

  3. The client steps onto the body composition analyzer, standing firmly on the electrodes.

  4. The client remains still and relaxed for approximately 10 minutes while the system performs the multi-segment analysis.

  5. Once the assessment is finished, the client may step down and wait approximately 5 minutes for the data to be processed and the report generated.

  6. A staff member will provide a detailed explanation of the analysis indicators, offering personalized wellness recommendations and health maintenance advice based on the findings.

Preliminary Preparation & Guidelines

  1. Attire Recommendation

    • Please wear short-sleeved shirts or lightweight long-sleeved tops, along with comfortable, thin trousers. Overly thick or restrictive clothing may affect the accuracy of the screening indicators.

  2. Jewelry and Accessories

    • All wrist accessories, including watches and bracelets, should be removed prior to the screening. Items that constrict the wrist area may result in inconsistent readings during the assessment.

*This vascular screening is intended for risk assessment purposes only and does not constitute a definitive medical diagnosis. Results should be reviewed by a qualified healthcare professional for further evaluation.
